This high quality durable glazing bar has an attractive low profile with a neat clip in screw concealment cap for a sleek finish.
Available in widths of 50mm & 60mm this screw down aluminium rafter glazing bar is suitable for use with all glazing thicknesses. Ideal for glass and polycarbonate sheets the screw down design makes it a strong bar for windy locations.
This bar is equally suited to refurbishing an existing roof, giving it a new lease of life, or creating a beautiful new one.
This aluminium capped rafter bar comes complete with an EPDM base gasket and two thread in top gaskets for a complete watertight finish. Screws are not included with these bars.
To create an end bar simply add an Aluminium F section.
Bar end caps include a glass stop and are available seperately.

Uses
The Sunwood Aluminium Capped Glazing bars are perfectly suited for use in all glass and polycarbonate roofs. The aluminium rafter glazing bars are available in widths of 50mm or 60mm dependent upon the width of your rafters. Visually these screw down glazing bars have a sleek low profile making it ideal for modern or traditional roof finishes. It has a neat, rounded screw concealment cap to hide your fixings making it a perfect choice for high end, high quality roofs. Perfect for timber conservatory roofs, orangeries and atriums. This screw down rafter glazing bar is equally suited to new constructions or if you would like to refurbish or waterproof an existing wooden conservatory roof.
The screw down fixing makes these bars particularly suited to coastal or other windy locations where a strong fix is needed.
Options
These aluminium rafter glazing bars are available in two widths of 50mm and 60mm. Both are suitable for all glazing thicknesses. Available in white and brown as standard for use with the other elements of a Sunwood roof. They are also available in anthracite grey in 50mm & 60mm widths, or mill finish (so they can be powder coated to other RAL shades) for use in lean to roofs.
Fitting
Extremely easy to fit the screw down bars come complete with all of the gaskets you will require. Cut all gasket lengths to size making sure there is sufficient overhang into your choice of gutter. Simply sit the base gasket straight onto your timber rafter.
The base gasket has been designed with a foot that can be fitted into a grooved rafter. If a groove is not used snip the stem and tear out the central section and fix the gasket in place with staples or similar.
Your chosen glazing sits on top of this on either side. Screw down through the aluminium top cap between the glazing sheets using the central groove as a guide. Screws are not included with these bars. The screws required are 3.9 x 25mm self-tapping screws.
The top cap itself has two slide in gaskets that sit atop the glazing ensuring a watertight seal. The curved screw concealment ‘c’ profile is then ‘clipped in’ to complete the neat and smooth look.
